The source of my passion

Hi parents! I’m Kameren, a doula in Southern Oregon. I have always been interested in doula work, but upon giving birth to my son, I fell absolutely in love with the magic and sanctity of birth and knew that I needed to immerse myself into the birth world. 

We all know many stories of a birth that didn’t go as expected. While this is okay in itself, the way a mother reflects on her birth depends wholly on the choices she was, or wasn’t able to make during the experience. Women who report feeling in control during their birth almost always associate their birth as a positive experience, even if it didn’t go as planned. I want to empower you to be one of these mothers. Hospitals have been dictating the way that women give birth since the 1950s. I believe that birthing people should give birth the way they choose, not a way that has been pressured onto them. It’s time for parents to write their own story, a new narrative. Whatever that looks like to you, I would love to empower you down that path.
